Review by Officer Nice: I don’t know if you are a member of the Facebook group ‘US Metal Reigns Supreme’. It is a page that we, at Metal To Infinity, created to worship our beloved kind of Heavy Metal even more. And it seems that, worldwide, there are plenty of people who adore this kind of music. Okay, we stay at the underground but to be honest, I’d rather be there. I’m not waiting for the moment that US Metal becomes so immense popular that it would destroy the scene. On the other hand, I dare to say this kind of Metal deserves much more respect. A difficult exercise in balance I guess… No?

We need to say that not every band, that plays US Metal, comes from out of the USA. In other words some of us are defining it as an actual genre. Worldwide there are bands that are inspired by this darker kind of Metal, which is actually a blender of NWOBHM, Thrash and Progressive tunes. Let’s say it is Iron Maiden and Satan in combination with Metallica or Forbidden and a Queensryche or Rush. In my hands I am holding an album from out of Switzerland, Judge Minos. I have never heard a word about this band but the front cover attracts me directly. Only a few notes are necessary to hear this band could come from out of the USA. But they’re not and actually it isn’t that important because I really like this EP.

This silver disc contains 6 songs that are mainly inspired by bands like Iced Earth, Jag Panzer etc. You know what I am talking about…. Heavy tuned rhythms on razor sharp riffs, technical played drums with awesome double bass sessions and lots of hooks and tempo changes.  I hear awesome played fast fingered leads, performed by a good duo of guitarists. The chords might sound familiar but I really adore the way they are played. This band stands for energy, dynamite and passion! The arrangements are powerful and are giving the listener a constant drive forward. You’ll hear strong and clear vocals, sometimes soaring with high screams, I just love them.

Maybe they will remind you at Iced Earth anyway… . There’s a perfect balance between melody and power, between intensity and harmony. You know what I am talking about? Yes, of course if you’re into this kind of Metal. Fans of the genre can purchase this one blindfolded. As above this thing is very good produced.  You’ll pay a few euros for a goodie that deserves a place in your collection. Unfortunately there is no vinyl version for this awesome record. But I don’t mind and I’ll keep this one for uncountable spins in my CD-player.
